Class Remediation

We are often asked a common question, “what happens if I do not pass the exam or I have trouble remembering the skills?”

If your particular course requires a written examination, like the American Heart Association Basic Life Support course does and you are unable to achieve a passing score on the written exam, or you are unsuccessful in passing the skills testing you will be given a second opportunity to take the written exam or skills testing to achieve a passing score. If you are still not able to pass the written exam or skills testing the second time you will be required to retake the entire course again in order for a certification card to be issued. You will receive a discount on the second class registration fee to take the class again. The Class Remediation Fee must be paid before the remediation class will be scheduled.

If you are having trouble with passing the skills evaluation portion of the course, after all students have completed the skills evaluation the instructor will work with you to define which areas you are having trouble with and tutor you in those areas.

After remediation you will be given the opportunity to complete the skills evaluation again. If you are successful in completing the skills evaluation a certification card will be issued. If you are unsuccessful in completing the skills evaluation for the second time you will be required to retake the entire course before a certification card can be issued. You will receive a discount on the class registration fee to take the class again. The Class Remediation Fee must be paid before the remediation class will be scheduled.

If you choose to “Challenge the Course” instead of sitting through the class and you are unable to pass the written exam, or skills evaluation on the first try, you will be required to retake the entire course through an in-person class before a certification card can be issued. A discount will not be given for the class registration fee because you did not pay for a full class originally.
