Advanced First Aid

American Safety & Health Institute’s Advanced First Aid program is designed for non-EMS responders including government, corporate, industry, lifeguards, security personnel, law enforcement, corrections personnel, and other individuals who are not EMS or healthcare providers but desire or require certification in Advanced First Aid.


This course teaches skills just below that of Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) training, including using an O.B. kit and assisting with natural childbirth, use of mechanical and manual suctioning equipment, oropharyngeal airways and bag masks.


Pre-requisites: Current, valid professional-level BLS certification.

Course Details:

Course Length: Initial Class: 17 hours (21 hours if all optional skills are covered)

Recertification Class: 7 hours


Course Completion Time: 17-21 Hours  (2-3 Days)

Successful completion is based on achievement of the core learning objectives and skills demonstration rather than a prescribed instruction time. Actual times may vary.

Digital Certification Cards are included in the cost of this class. If you prefer to have a traditional Laminated Certification Card, please add $5.00 to the cost of the class. Replacement cards will be provided in digital format.
